2018. YEAR OF THE PHOENIX.

SO to be honest, I'm not really sure what the year of the phoenix is but thought it would sum up the purpose of the post. It's been a while since I've posted anything here and thought I would go ahead and try and get this going again. I have BIG plans for this year when it comes to my art. I am currently in the process of building prototypes for pochade boxes made from old cigar boxes, I have an Etchr art satchel on the way that I will be doing an unboxing and useage review when it arrives.

I'm going to be venturing outside more this year and taking on Urban Sketching as well as some nice landscape stuff where I like to escape sometimes. I'll also be trying to talk with the local Arts Council and see if they might be interested in starting some open art sessions in collaboration with their theater group so that there can be some costumes sessions also. All this and trying to make it at the new job also which, I have to be honest, is super stressful!!! With the help of my 4 year old, I think all of the above with be able to happen this year.

I will of course be working on getting this blog up and running for real and not let it sit in some forgotten corner of some forgotten room in some forgotten house on some forgotten street in some forgotten city part of a forgotten.... well.. you get the point :p

I'll also try and link up with other artists out there on the interweb and see if they will be willing to let me do a little Q&A and post here. The reason being, I have not had the advantage of going to any art school. It is still a dream but, financially, I think a dream is all it will be. Because of this, I have spent the last few years watching other artists on YouTube as well as spending countless hours in the local libraries reading instructional books and also flipping through the art collection books being amazed and inspired.

In closing, the last few years have been very taxing and emotionally draining and this year, it's time to get back on track and make this art thing a real thing. So sit back, relax, and check back weekly for a new blog.

Welcome to the Year of the Phoenix.
